Access to HE Celebration of Achievement
Last week, our Access to Higher Education students attended a ceremony to celebrate the success of completing their courses. The event marked the first Access to HE Celebration of Achievement ceremony to take place since the pandemic and we are very proud to have been able to honour our students. The 2021-2022 cohort have worked incredibly hard and gone above and beyond in their academic achievements this year, despite some great challenges. This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to celebrate their accomplishments over the past year of their studies and have a final goodbye to peers and staff.
The Access to Higher Education courses are designed to give learners a strong foundation of academic knowledge within their chosen subject. Many of our students have used the past year as a stepping stone to further study and have secured places onto degrees or other Higher Education courses. We also have several of our students who will be returning to us in the next academic year in September to continue their education journey on one of our Degree courses and we look forward to welcoming them back soon.
The awards evening was held at the University and Professional Development Centre on Tuesday 05 July and it was a fantastic opportunity to appreciate the great variety of talent that these students represent. With welcome drinks offered, all attendees were asked to bring their own food and drink before the night’s activities began. Dr Nikos Savvas, Chief Executive, began the evening by welcoming all to the evening and to thank the students, staff, and family and friends for all the hard work that has been witnessed this past year. Each student was then called up on stage for shaking of the hands and photo opportunities.
All of the staff at University Studies are exceptionally proud of each and every one of our students and we would like to wish everyone all the best of luck in whatever path the future may hold.
