Warhol’s in waiting set to showcase their talents during art fair in Bury

Talented local artists are getting ready to sell their wares and showcase their talents during an art fair held in Bury St Edmunds on Sunday 27 April 2025 between 10am and 4pm.

The event will take place at Claire’s House situated on Barton Road.

The idea behind the occasion called ‘Curiosities’ is to give art practice students from University Studies at West Suffolk College the chance to put their work in the shop window whilst getting an understanding of promoting themselves and creating an exhibition.

The large range of pieces that people can purchase will include animatronics, bookmarks, portraits, prints and sculptures.

Ash Murcutt, 20 from Bury – works under the name of Munstxrz Reborn – will be selling digital prints. Ash said: “The exhibition and fair is called Curiosities as we have a whole range of things that people are selling - and we won’t people to be curious. We have put lots of time into this creating this and it would be nice if people in the community came and supported us.”

Joel Millerchip is an art lecturer for University Studies at West Suffolk College. Joel said: “The Art fair gives our students the opportunity to build confidence not just in their own artwork but also in their knowledge of how to professionally create an event that showcases their work. It’s a lovely module that allows them to flourish - and the event helps make the local community aware of how valuable their skills are as professional creatives.”

Claire Douglas from Claire’s House said: “We are supporting this event as we believe young people bring fresh ideas and creativity that is exciting and infectious. We love to support local young people in the artistic community and are so happy to be able to celebrate their hard work in our studio and encourage others to come and see the varied and skilled work that has been created and meet the students themselves.”
