RAAC statement: Our structures are not constructed of RAAC and pose no safety concerns
Statement on behalf of the EASTERN EDUCATION GROUP incorporating Abbeygate Sixth Form College, One Sixth Form College, West Suffolk College and University Studies at West Suffolk College.
The Eastern Education Group confirmed this morning that building infrastructures within the group are not affected by the reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) issue that is having an adverse effect on schools around the country.
Andy Swift, Group Director of Estates said: “In compliance with Department for Education guidance, a RAAC survey was commissioned to investigate our built environment across the organisation; which has confirmed that our structures are not constructed of RAAC and pose no safety concerns.”
“We look forward to welcoming our students back to our campuses next week to start their new academic year.”
